Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Crawley
Campaign Bulletin
Conservative Party Manifesto 2015 launch
Our country has a clear choice between the economic competence of David Cameron, or the chaos of Ed Miliband and Ed Balls.
Since 2010, the tax-free personal allowance has risen to £10,600, services are returning to Crawley Hospital, the building of Forge Wood has begun, and local unemployment has fallen by 60%.
People across town will benefit from the personal allowance being increased to £12,500, and those working 30 hours a week on the minimum wage will no longer pay income tax at all.
I am also pleased that the Conservatives will ensure 30 hours of free childcare to working parents of three and four year-olds.
Around 1,000 Crawley firms have benefited from the £2,000 Employment Allowance, which has enabled companies to hire more local staff.
I am out and about campaigning but I am still on hand to assist – please email me at henry4crawley@aol.com if there is anything to do to help.
Abseil for St Catherine’s Hospice: Last Friday I abseiled down the 100 foot Sandman Signature Hotel – dressed as Spiderman – for St Catherine’s. I am grateful for all donations so far, please click here if you would like to contribute to the Hospice.
Crawley Town FC Community Foundation: Good to see more of the great work of the CTFC Community Foundation, at their Easter Soccer School in Maidenbower.
Improved access to GPs: Supporting the Prime Minister’s pledge to improve access to doctors, modernise surgeries, and improve out-of-hospital care.
Register to Vote: Please make sure you are registered to vote at the General Election on 7th May - the UK Government website states the deadline to register is 20th April 2015. Crawley Borough Council must receive postal vote applications no later than 5pm on Tuesday 21st April 2015.
Crawley Observer column: In my final local paper column before the election, I wrote about assisting 5,000 Crawley residents, and receiving the support of Dr Brian May.
Culture Secretary visit: Delighted to welcome Culture Secretary Sajid Javid to Crawley to show him a community engagement project that overcame the bureaucracy to receive funding from the England & Wales Cricket Board.
Supporting local cinema: Pleased to support Crawley film-maker Callum Johnston, ahead of his latest production’s release.
Inheritance Tax: Good to see that a future Conservative Government would take the family home out of inheritance tax.
Graham Cridland: Delighted to have Graham, the Founder and Chairman of the West Sussex & Surrey Angling Academy, supporting my re-election campaign.
