The EU’s law on the transport of live animals has led to livestock, some only two weeks old, being driven over huge distances in cramped containers, and often kept in conditions which would be illegal in this country once they reach their destination.
A number of animal welfare bodies such as Compassion in World Farming have called for the UK to ban this trade, yet whilst we are members of the EU we are powerless to act.
After we Vote Leave we can take back control of animal welfare policy and end this inhumane practice.
