Saturday April 23rd: I was pleased to present the National Citizen Service awards at the Check-a-Trade Stadium. Congratulations to all graduates and my thanks to the Crawley Town Community Foundation for running this Government backed scheme. If 15-17 year olds are interested in taking part please visit www.ncsyes.co.uk.
Delighted to get the news that both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition raised the resettlement of the Chagos Islanders with US President, Barack Obama.
Sunday April 24th: Attended the fantastic Beavers, Rainbows, Cubs, Brownies, Scouts and Guides St George’s parade in Queen’s Square – thanks for the invite!
Monday April 25th: In the House of Commons I welcomed the news that Crawley Hospital now has 24/7 urgent care services and an out of hours GP cover service. This is great to see after service closures a decade ago.
Tuesday April 26th: Welcomed the Government’s commitment to include educational progress in prison league tables and reintroduce a British Bill of Rights.
Wednesday April 27th: Delighted that the Government are supporting young people by introducing the Lifetime ISA. For every £4 saved the Government will be giving them an extra £1.
Thursday April 28th: Escorted the Defence Secretary on his tour of Thales’ UK Head Office in Manor Royal. It is great to hear that the company are investing £20million in the Crawley site.
Friday April 29th: I met with Clarkson Evans at Crawley’s new neighbourhood, Forge Wood, to meet with their electrical apprentices.
