Henry Smith MP earlier today paid tribute to Ifield Community Youth Services on the floor of the House of Commons.
Commenting afterwards, Henry said:
“I was pleased to secure the opportunity to pay tribute to Ifield Community Youth Services for the broad range of provision they offer. Voluntary sector involvement in youth services allows for greater opportunities for local young people.
“In particular, I have extended my sincere thanks to Chris Cook at ICYS for his vision and hard work. Chris, together with all of ICYS’s staff, work tirelessly to support and grow our town’s youth in a safe and friendly environment. The services that they offer are crucial to so many local young people and help equip them for challenges in later life.
“There are a significant number of inspiring young people with the ambition and enthusiasm to make a difference in their communities. It’s important to improve adults’ perceptions of young people and create greater confidence amongst young people that their contribution and achievements are recognised. The ICYS seeks to achieve precisely this and in many ways provides a voice to Crawley’s local youth.”
