As the weather hopefully gets warmer and the days longer into May, it’s a chance to make the most of our natural environment.
It’s a subject that’s important to me and many others across Crawley. With this in mind I was delighted to host the Greener UK coalition of environmental organisations - from the National Trust to Sussex Wildlife Trust in the House of Commons earlier this year.
We discussed how the UK's EU exit is an opportunity to restore and enhance our natural surroundings, and I’m delighted that this cause now has the backing of more than 200 MPs from across the House of Commons.
All of us can enjoy the wildlife available on our doorstep here in Crawley. In February, the RSPB led a birdwatch in Worth Park to the north east of town and to our south west is the beautiful Buchan Country Park with new walking trails.
Whether in Crawley or working in Parliament, I will continue to work to ensure an improved environment for all creatures - ourselves included!
