Crawley’s MP, Henry Smith, has today written to the Transport Secretary, Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP, calling on the Government to create an independent aviation noise authority.
Commenting on his campaign, Henry said:
“With Gatwick Airport falling within my constituency, aircraft noise is a source of concern for many of my constituents.
“I believe that a fresh approach is urgently needed to better tackle aircraft noise in order to ensure residents living near Gatwick have confidence that their legitimate grievances are being addressed.
“As such, I’m today calling on the Government to establish an independent aircraft noise ombudsman.”
