Sunday June 28th: Replied to residents’ emails that have been sent to me over the course of the week.
Monday June 29th: Delighted to meet with George Bowron, the West Sussex Youth Cabinet Member for North East Crawley, and provide him a tour of the Palace of Westminster. We discussed various local and national issues and was pleased to see the level of enthusiasm shown.
In the House of Commons I asked for assurances from the Prime Minister that NHS records would be made available to the Tunisian Authorities to help identify missing UK residents following the horrendous attack in Tunisia.
Tuesday June 30th: Interviewed by ITV on a number of topics including the terrorist attack in Tunisia, the future of Gatwick Airport and my new role as the Chair of the Animal Welfare All-Party Parliamentary Group.
Hosted General Michael Jones, former US Central Command Chief, who discussed security in the Middle East.
Wednesday July 1st: Attended a briefing from the Airports Commission about Heathrow being the preferred option to increase aviation capacity and economic growth for the UK. After the report was published I called on the Government to make its final decision by the end of 2015.
Thursday July 2nd: Welcomed the statement to Parliament that introduced English votes for English laws. The UK needs to have constitutional fairness across the board.
Friday July 3rd: Pleased to visit important Crawley employer, Jeanie Marshal Foods, who provides catering to Eurostar and Virgin trains as well as airlines.
Attended the one minute silence in the Memorial Gardens to remember the tragic attack in Tunisia a week prior; sadly Crawley residents John and Janet Stocker were among those who lost their lives on 26 June.
Held my Crawley Advice Bureau meeting local constituents and charity groups.
