Saturday November 7th: Visited Crawley’s newest neighbourhood, Forge Wood, which is providing a much needed mixture of social and private housing for local people.
Sunday November 8th: I was honoured to lay a Remembrance Wreath at the St John’s War Memorial as Crawley’s MP. We should never forget the ultimate sacrifice our servicemen and woman have made to protect our freedom.
Delighted to be invited to speak at The Hawth for the Crawley Gurjar Hindu Union Diwali festival, celebrating light over darkness.
Monday November 9th: Pleased to visit the construction site of Central Sussex College’s upcoming Advanced Technologies Centre. This extension will increase the opportunities for STEM based education for local students.
Tuesday November 10th: Welcomed Crawley based CR Bard and the Unplanned Admissions Consensus Committee to Parliament, discussing how to reduce the impact of NHS infections on patients and health budgets.
Grateful for the news that Boeing, who have presence in Crawley, have doubled its UK workforce since 2010 and increased supply chain investment by 440% to £1.4billion.
On the floor of the House I welcome the Government’s leave/remain UK/EU referendum. It is important that the people of the UK will have their say on this decision.
Wednesday November 11th: Pleased to give a keynote speech at the Manor Royal Business Improvement District Crawley/Gatwick Manor Royal Matters conference. The industrial/commercial park is UK award winning and the largest in south east England.
Paid my respects on Armistice Day, marking the moment that World War 1 ended.
Delighted to welcome the successful extension of the London Oyster travel system to Gatwick Airport, starting January 2016. I will continue to campaign for the service to have its zone extended to both Three Bridges and Crawley.
Thursday November 12th: In Irbil, Iraq, to meet with UK military and consular officials about the security situation involving ISIS.
