Monday January 4th: Delighted to visit Forge Wood alongside Housing Minister, Brandon Lewis. Crawley’s newest neighbourhood will create hundreds of new homes that will cater for first time buyers, shared ownership and social housing.
Took part in a regional news interview to discuss rail fares and the continued investment in the service. I look forward to meeting with the Minister for Rail in the coming weeks to discuss recent constituents concerns over delays.
Wrote to Crawley primary schools and scout groups asking if they would consider setting up a ‘Bee World’. I am pleased to work with Friends of the Earth as part of their ‘Bee Cause’ Campaign and was pleased to mention this in the Commons back in November.
Tuesday January 5th: House of Commons - Welcomed the Home Secretary’s continued support for tackling Daesh tactics to inspire extremism via projects run within Crawley and nationally. Also in Parliament I spoke about the Prime Minister's commitment to reject EU ever closer union for the UK.
Wednesday January 6th: Voted in the Commons on the Housing Bill to extend home ownership opportunities for families across the UK.
Met with Crawley Police’s District Commander, David Padwick, for a brief on the work undertaken over the Christmas period. I am grateful for the tireless work from him and his officers to keep our town safe.
Friday January 8th: Interviewed by BBC Sunday Politics South East to discuss the importance of building new homes in Crawley, as well as the upcoming In/Out EU Referendum.
