Wednesday April 6th: Pleased to welcome the Government providing dedicated funding to fill one million potholes around the UK. West Sussex will be given over £800,000 to have over 15,000 potholes filled.
Delighted to confirm that today, the start of the new tax year, personal allowance has been raised from £10,600 to £11,000. On top of this, over 1000 low-earners in the town are due to be taken out of paying income tax altogether.
As part of business tax reforms, employer National Insurance contributions for apprentices under 25 have been completely abolished, saving a business employing an apprentice on the National Minimum Wage over £500 a year.
Following my meeting with the Dogs Trust it is a timely reminder that the laws on microchipping for dogs has changed. From today it is a legal requirement to have every dog microchipped with owners of non-microchipped dogs being liable for a find of £500.
Thursday April 7th: Pleased to be able to show the Leader of the House of Commons, Rt Hon Chris Grayling, some of the great projects embarked on by the Crawley Town Community Foundation. The Foundation have just run their second National Citizen Service scheme and their social action project includes supporting Crawley Open House.
