Monday May 2nd: I asked for assurances from the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs that, following reports of collusion between the Assad regime and Daesh in Syria, that UK airstrikes have been focused and not resulted in civilian casualties.
Tuesday May 3rd: Was delighted to visit Manor Green College, Ifield, to meet with Autism Support Crawley in aid of Autism Support Day – well done for all your continued hard work.
Wednesday May 4th: Always happy to welcome local Crawley residents to the Houses of Parliament. This particular constituent probably attended one of the more unique PMQ’s where the Prime Minister mentioned Gary Lineker’s pledge to present Match of the Day in his underwear (following Leicester City FC’s Premier League triumph).
Met with the Political Editor of the Evening Standard to discuss the upcoming local elections.
Thursday May 5th: In the Commons I asked the Leader of the House whether or not we can hold a debate over the future of the UK’s military partnerships. The UK has been a part of NATO since 1949 and this has helped keep peace in Europe, however other EU members now want a European army.
Friday May 6th: I met with the Cats Protection to discuss pet breeding licenses. The organisation are rightly concerned with high levels of unwanted kittens.
