The 606 and 693 buses from Pound Hill in Crawley were reportedly set for cancellation but thanks to lobbying from Henry Smith, a decision has now been made not to close them.
Henry said:
“I am delighted to report that the 606 and 693 buses from Pound Hill are set to continuing running. I had received numerous concerns from residents that these services were reportedly set for closure. For many young people in Crawley these buses are the only way to school and for others an important way to travel round our town.
“As soon as I heard reports of the potential cessation of these services, I contacted West Sussex County Council to see if any decision regarding their closure could be reversed. I am subsequently very pleased to confirm that a decision has been made not to close them.
“This is personally very pleasing because when I was Leader of West Sussex County Council several years ago I instigated these bus routes.”
