Crawley MP, Henry Smith, has given his support to Restaurant Week, a campaign organised by Twitter UK to promote local eateries using social media.
Commenting, Henry said:
“More and more restaurants in Crawley are using social media to engage with regular and potential customers. This is a great example of how technology and social media can be used as a force for good.
“I’d urge local restaurants to get involved, as this can help owners connect with the local community, showcase their menus, and bring new customers through the door.
“Twitter is also offering free ‘webinars’ to restaurant owners, managers and marketers. These will look at a number of different areas, such as how to convert followers into customers.
“I’ve written to a number of restaurants across the town to make them aware of this opportunity.”
Restaurant Week will take place from 2nd to 8th June 2014 across the UK and Ireland, using the Twitter hashtag #RestaurantWeek. Local restaurants, whether they’re on Twitter or not, can express an interest by signing up at https://twitter.twimg.com/RestaurantWeek.
